Caroline Lacksen
Early Literacy Professional Development Specialist
Caroline Lacksen is a Professional Development Specialist for the Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy. She comes to the Deal Center with nearly a decade of experience in elementary education having taught in Clarke, Greene, and Baldwin counties in Georgia, as well as abroad in Costa Rica, France, and Italy. She holds a MEd and a BSEd in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia, along with Gifted, ESOL, and Dyslexia endorsements. Caroline has served as a Local School Governance Team member and ELA curriculum developer, participated in the Governor's School Leadership Academy, and continues to serve as a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Corporate Board member and program facilitator. She is passionate about supporting those who support learners, and is committed to promoting and advancing the statewide mission of The Deal Center at Georgia College & State University. Caroline enjoys residing in Milledgeville with her husband, Will, their cat, Sanford, and dog, Craigie.
